Supported by:      World Vision and Dept. of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal

Project Area:        Rajarhat Block, Barasat-II Block, Panihati Municipality, Kamarhati Municipality, Bidhannagar Municipality and Rajarhat Gopalpur Municipality

Activities:             Awareness meeting with village community, Refer for the TB (Sputum) Test, Follow-up of patients, Counseling of TB patients, Capacity Building of Rural Health Care Providers.

Beneficiaries:        More than 15 Lakhs of population.

Tenure:                 October 2010 to March 2016.

Scheme Name:      Sputum Collection, Pickup and Transportation Scheme

Funded by:           Dept. of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal

Project Area:        Reckjoani Block Primary Health Centre, Amdanga Block Primary Health Centre, Biswanathpur Block Primary Health Centre (2 Centres), Bongaon J. R. Dhar Rural Hospital

Activities:             To collect, pickup and transport the sputum samples to the Test Laboratory.

Beneficiaries:        More than 6000 samples

Tenure:                 December 2008 to March 2016

 

  1. Project Name: Urban Slum Children Education Project- Kolkata

Funded by:           Individual donations of SWS

Project Area:        Dakshineshwar and Kamarhati (outskirts of Kolkata)

Activities:             This project mainly aims to mainstream and rehabilitate the underprivileged children who are either the drug consumers or smokers. We do rehabilitation by counseling them and provide the elementary education and send them into the formal school recognized by the state board.

Beneficiaries:        354 Students
